The journey of searching for God…

From complexity to clarity

Introduction: When the journey begins with a simple question

01

Every human being, in a moment of sincerity, asks:

02

Who created me?

03

Who governs this universe?

To whom do I return when I become weak?

The question is simple.

But the path toward it may become complicated.

Sometimes the search begins with a clear image of one supreme power, then conceptions overlap, images multiply, definitions change, and the question itself becomes more obscure than at the beginning.

How does this happen?

And how does the conception of God move from natural simplicity to a network of complex ideas?

The first stage: A natural feeling of a higher existence

In the beginning, a human being does not need philosophy.

He feels the presence of a power higher than himself.

One.

Transcending the world.

Capable of everything.

This feeling is not taught.

Nor imported.

It is part of the human experience.

But when civilizational factors, intellectual influences, and the accumulation of symbols enter, the image begins to change.

The second stage: Multiplicity of forms and the expansion of the sacred

With time, the circle of deification may expand.

Everything that is feared or hoped from is sanctified.

Forces of nature.

Symbols of power.

Multiple images of divinity.

The number of gods becomes unlimited.

New forms are added without abolishing the old ones.

It may appear as diversity.

But it raises a question:

If there is no decisive criterion,

How do we distinguish between the true God and the symbolic image?

The third stage: Attempt at organization

In the face of this expansion, attempts appear to organize the multiplicity.

Division of roles.

Distribution of functions.

A triadic framework defining the tasks of creation, preservation, and destruction.

But organization does not settle the fundamental question:

Is there one reality behind these forms?

Or is multiplicity the original state?

If it is one, why does worship remain distributed?

And if multiplicity is the origin,

How is full coherence achieved?

The fourth stage: Philosophical abstraction

Here another direction appears:

Transforming God into an absolute principle.

A supreme cosmic reality.

An object of contemplation rather than a directly worshiped being.

In this conception, God becomes closer to an all-encompassing idea.

But a human being is not satisfied with an idea.

He seeks a relationship.

If God becomes an abstract concept, does worship remain meaningfully alive?

The fifth stage: Dissolving boundaries

Then a deeper philosophical conception appears:

Considering everything as an extension of the supreme reality.

No distinction between the Creator and the creation.

All existence is an expression of the Absolute.

The idea seems spiritual.

Comprehensive.

Attractive.

But when the distinction dissolves, the differentiation dissolves with it.

If everything is God, what does it mean for there to be a God at all?

Where does the human being stand amid this complexity?

He moves between:

Limitless multiplicity

Partial organization

Philosophical abstraction

Unity of existence

And at every stage, the original question remains present:

Who is the God I truly worship?

Is He an image?

A symbol?

A function?

A principle?

Or a clear reality independent of the world?

When this question is not settled, the journey remains open.

The need for clarity that diversity does not cancel

Complexity is not always an error.

Nor is diversity necessarily a weakness.

But when it comes to God, definition is the foundation.

If the definition changes, worship changes.

The relationship changes.

And the meaning of life itself changes.

Natural disposition does not seek a network of overlapping concepts.

It seeks clear certainty.

Return to the center

Amid all the images,

All the philosophies,

All the attempts at organization…

A person may discover that his heart inclines toward something simpler:

One God.

Clear.

Transcending the universe.

Not merged with it.

Not divided in His authority.

No other is added to Him, nor is His authority distributed among multiple forms.

When this center becomes clear, confusion ends.

Conclusion: From complexity to light

The journey of searching for God may pass through long stages of multiplicity, abstraction, and dissolution.

But in the end, the question remains as it began:

Who is the true God?

When a person finds a conception that:

- Preserves God’s transcendence

- Distinguishes Him from creation

- Affirms Him as one without partner

- Gives clarity to worship

- And grants reassurance to the heart

Then the journey turns from complexity to clarity.

From a search among images…

To certainty in one reality.

And only here

Does the heart find rest.
