Allah in Islam Why Does the Creator Not Resemble His Creation

In human history many images of God have appeared

A god who resembles a human being

01

Or lives within nature

02

Or becomes incarnate

03

Or changes over time

But Islam begins with a completely different question

If the Creator is the source of everything

Can He be similar to those He created

From here Islam presents an original concept of God built upon two foundations

1 Absolute Perfection

God in Islam is perfect without any deficiency

He does not weaken

He does not change

He does not need

He is not affected by the world He created

2 Complete Distinction from Creation

Everything in the universe has a form

Dimensions

Limits

Place

And time

But the Creator in the Islamic perspective is exalted above these constraints

Because He is the One who brought them into existence

Therefore Allah in Islam

Does not incarnate

Does not dwell in a place

Does not resemble any created being

And is not subject to the laws of nature that He created

This transcendence clarifies that His attributes are not like human attributes

He is All Hearing but not like our hearing

He is All Seeing but not like our sight

He is Merciful but without the limits of humanity

﴾ There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the Hearing, the Seeing.﴿

Surah Ash Shura 11

Why is this important for the seeker of truth

Because a god who resembles human beings would lose the qualities of divinity

He would need

Or weaken

Or change

Or be affected

Then he would become a being among beings not their Creator

As for the God who does not resemble His creation and does not need anyone

He alone is a perfect God worthy of worship.
