Refutation of Shintoism from the Qur’an and Sunnah
The Qur’an, as the final and authoritative revelation, provides systematic refutations of all animistic and polytheistic beliefs, including those found in Shintoism.
First: Refuting Turning to Other Than Allah "And to AllŒh belong the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth and to Him will be returned the matter, all of it, so worship Him and rely upon Him. And your Lord is not unaware of that which you do." (Surah Hud: 123) Implication: All unseen matters and all affairs belong exclusively to Allah.
Therefore: Worship must be directed to Him alone Reliance must be placed on Him alone This completely invalidates seeking help from Kami or natural spirits.
Second: Nature is a Sign, Not an Object of Worship "And of His signs are the night and day and the sun and moon. Do not prostrate to the sun or to the moon, but prostrate to AllŒh, who created them, if it should be Him that you worship." (Surah Fussilat: 37) Implication: Even the most عظيمة elements of nature—like the sun—are merely creations.
Worship belongs only to the Creator.
Third: Refuting Intermediaries and False Intercession Or have they taken other than AllŒh as intercessors? Say, "Even though they do not possess [power over] anything, nor do they reason?"Say, "To AllŒh belongs [the right to allow] intercession entirely. To Him belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Then to Him you will be returned.
“" (Surah Az-Zumar: 43–44) Implication: Intercession belongs entirely to Allah. Those taken as intermediaries possess no independent power or awareness.
