Is your dignity a human decision… or a divine decree?

Have you ever felt that your dignity is measured by standards you do not control?

By your appearance?

01

By a man’s approval?

02

By your family’s satisfaction?

03

By society’s voice?

In many environments, a woman’s value is conditional.

If she obeys, she is praised.

If she disagrees, she is punished.

If she conforms to the expected image, she is accepted.

If she deviates, she is rejected.

But the deeper question is:

Is dignity a social grant?

Or an existential truth that precedes society?

Islam begins from a completely different point.

(And We have certainly honored the children of Adam ) AL‑ISRĀ-70

This verse is not a moral slogan.

It is a doctrinal declaration.

God—the Creator of humanity—has declared the dignity of all human beings.

Male and female.

Rich and poor.

Strong and weak.

Dignity here is not the result of achievement.

Nor is it dependent on how others treat you.

It is tied to your very human essence.

When the source of dignity is God,

no man can take it away.

No culture can redefine it.

And here lies the fundamental difference.

In human systems, value is granted.

In Islam, value is established by the Creator.

People may commit injustice.

Society may fail.

Traditions may deviate.

But the divine text remainsfixed

That is why the Prophet said in his farewell sermon:

“Treat women well.”

He did not say: treat them well if they deserve it.

He commanded it from the beginning.

Because the foundation is dignity.

If your Lord is the One who defined your dignity,

why accept for it to be measured by shifting human standards?
