Why do I live?

Any society can establish laws to organize life: laws for work, laws for the family, and laws for public order. But all these laws fail to answer the deeper question: Why does the human being exist in the first place? Here begins the problem that many human philosophies have faced, including the philosophy of Confucius.

An attempt to reform society… not to explain existence Confucius appeared at a time when China was suffering from political turmoil and conflicts between kingdoms. He thought in a very practical way: If people adhere to a set of moral values, society will be upright.

01

For this reason, he focused on virtues such as: respect for parents social discipline obedience to the system preservation of traditions These principles seemed appealing, and therefore they influenced East Asian societies for many centuries.

02

But the problem is that this system tried to organize human life without explaining the reason for its existence. Morality is a question greater than habits Every human being knows that honesty is good and injustice is evil. But the real question is: where did these values come from? Are they merely social habits?

03

If morality were just habits, society could change them whenever it wanted. History has witnessed societies that considered injustice something normal, even a virtue at times. Therefore, morality is not merely a social agreement. Rather, it is part of something deeper within the human being: the innate nature.

Here the decisive question appears: Who implanted this innate nature in the human heart?

The human being is not merely a social role In Confucian thought, the righteous person is the one who performs his social role well: the obedient son the disciplined employee the committed citizen But the human being is not merely a role in a social theater.

A person may obey the laws… yet his heart may be filled with arrogance, envy, or ظلم. Therefore, laws can regulate outward behavior… but they cannot reform the heart. The problem of authority in the moral system One of the central ideas in Confucian thought is maintaining social balance through obedience.

Each person knows his place in the social system. But history teaches us a clear truth: If authority is not restrained by justice… it can easily turn into oppression. For this reason, some political systems in history used this philosophy to justify strict obedience to rulers. But human nature says something different: no one is above justice.

The question that follows every human being No matter how organized society is… No matter how precise the laws are… A day will come when a person faces the question that cannot be escaped: What happens after death? This question was not a central focus in Confucius’ philosophy. But for the human being, it is the most important question.

Because life changes completely if there is accountability after death. Here the real difference begins Islam does not begin with society. Islam begins by answering the deep questions of the human soul: Who created the human being? And why was he created?

(Allah Ya ce da su): “Ko kuna tsammani ne cewa Mun halicce ku ne ba manufa kuma ku ba za a dawo da ku gare Mu ba?

Life is not meaningless. God created the human being with wisdom. And He created this world as a test. When a person knows his Creator In Islam, morality is not merely social rules. It is a natural result of faith in God. A truthful person is not truthful only because society praises him. But because he knows that God sees him.

Here, conscience shifts from the surveillance of society… to the awareness of God. This is what truly forms a righteous human being. The difference between philosophy and revelation Human philosophies try to reform society from the outside. Revelation begins by reforming the human being from within. Laws may sometimes prevent crime.

But faith is what prevents it even when no one is watching. The truth that the human being needs The project of Confucius was a human attempt to organize society. But the human being needs more than a social system.

He needs to know: Who created him Why he was created What his fate is after death These questions are answered by Islam with a clarity that does not exist in any human philosophy. An invitation to reflect If you are sincerely searching for the truth… Do not be content with studying philosophies. Read the Qur’an yourself.

And ask yourself a simple question: Could this speech be from a human being? Many people around the world embraced Islam because they searched sincerely. The truth is that when the heart finds monotheism… it feels that it has returned to something it always knew. The innate nature.
