Let’s Make a Cup of Tea and Reflect on the Secret of Our Existence

Introduction My friend seeker of truth Hold the cup of tea in your hands and feel its warmth Now before you take the first sip let us contemplate together a simple but profound matter This cup in your hand how did it get to you First The Simple Story of a Cup of Tea Let’s make a cup of tea together What do we need Water Tea Sugar A cup Fire Now place these things on the table in front of you and wait Will they move on their own and mix to make a cup of tea for you Of course not The mind cannot accept such a thing Yet astonishingly some people look at the universe which is billions of times more complex than a cup of tea and then say It happened by chance The universe contains the sun the moon the stars the Earth the mountains the seas humans and it has a precise system that does not collapse Is it conceivable that this universe created itself by chance It must have a Creator And this Creator is Allah the Maker of all things Second Compare Yourself to Your Mobile Phone Your phone in your pocket how much does it cost Hundreds or thousands If it falls and breaks you can simply buy another one But you if an organ of yours malfunctions can you buy a replacement A kidney fails You need a donor An eye is injured You need a donor A heart stops You need a donor And the donor is not for sale and even if you gathered all the money in the world you could not create a single eye like the one Allah created for you If you are more precious than any phone in the world do you not deserve to know who created you

( And in yourselves. Then will you not see?)(ADH-DHĀRIYĀT:21)

Third Look at the Hand Holding the Cup Contemplate your hand for a moment Bones and joints moving smoothly Blood flowing through blood vessels Nerves transmitting signals in fractions of a second Skin sensing heat cold and pain All of this works in harmony without you commanding it Who designed this hand with such precision Who installed these capabilities within it It is Allah the Creator ( Who created you, proportioned you, and balanced you?

02

In whatever form He willed has He assembled you.)(AL‑INFIṬĀR:7.

Fourth The Secret of Water Cheap Yet Priceless The most precious thing in your life is water Without it you die within days Yet you find water cheap available and you drink it every day without counting Imagine if water were as expensive as gold what would happen The poor would die of thirst and the rich would buy it with their wealth Who made water available to everyone Who sends down the rain runs the rivers and fills the earth with groundwater It is Allah the Most Merciful (And it is He who sends down rain from the sky, and We produce thereby the growth of all things.

We produce from it greenery from which We produce grains arranged in layers. And from the palm trees – of its emerging fruit are clusters hanging low. And [We produce] gardens of grapevines and olives and pomegranates, similar yet varied. Look at [each of] its fruit when it yields and [at] its ripening.

Indeed in that are signs for a people who believe).

Fifth The Air You Breathe but Do Not See Take a deep breath Can you see the air No But without this air you would die in minutes In the air there are precise ratios of gases If oxygen increased slightly the Earth would burn if it decreased slightly humans would suffocate Who set these ratios with such astonishing precision It is Allah the Planner (Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and then We separated them and made from water every living thing?

Then will they not believe?

Sixth Why Don’t We See Allah An important question If Allah exists why don’t we see Him I will answer with a simple example Have you ever seen the wind You do not see it but you see its effects The trees sway the dust flies the clouds move Similarly Allah you do not see with your eyes but His effects are everywhere In the order of the universe In the precision of the body In the response to supplication In the inner feeling that there is a greater power (Vision perceives Him not,[1] but He perceives [all] vision; and He is the Subtle,[2] the Aware.[3])(AL‑AN‘ĀM:103)

Seventh A Moment of Prayer When You Are Certain Someone Hears You When life becomes difficult what do you do Many people even if they are not religious pray in moments of hardship Why Because deep inside humans have certainty that there is One who hears And who hears the prayer Who responds to it It is Allah the Near the Responsive (And when My servants ask you, [O Muúammad], concerning Me – indeed I am near.

I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me. So let them respond to Me [by obedience] and believe in Me that they may be [rightly] guided.

Eighth What Happens After Death We all will die This is an undeniable fact Imagine you studied 12 years then the exam day comes After it the results and rewards come The world is the school Death is the exam The Hereafter is the results (So whoever does an atom's weight[1] of good will see it, And whoever does an atom's weight of evil will see it )(AZ-ZALZALAH:7,8)

Ninth A Message to Your Heart My friend seeker of truth The cup of tea has begun to cool but the idea has started to warm I do not ask you to change your religion now Nor to abandon what you inherited from your parents immediately I ask only one thing Think Ask yourself Can the universe exist without a Creator Can a complex body exist by chance What is the secret of the spiritual feeling within me If you feel that the universe has a Creator you have started the path The next step ask Him for guidance Read the Qur’an once as a reader sincerely searching for truth from your heart (Indeed, this QurÕŒn guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward)(AL‑ISRĀ’:9)
