When awareness opens to truth — how knowing Allah makes a person more connected to reality

In a world full of distractions and contradictory information, a person may think he knows reality, but he often sees only the surface of things. Sources indicate that knowing Allah is the true bridge to understanding life in a balanced way, and grants a person deep insight that goes beyond a superficial material perspective.

1. Interpreting events and trials

01

Knowing Allah makes a person realize that his existence is not meaningless, and that life is not merely a chain of random events. Instead of seeing disasters or illnesses as absolute evil, knowing Allah grants the ability to understand the attributes of Majesty and Beauty in everything that occurs:

02

Majesty: divine power, justice, and capability

03

Beauty: mercy, gentleness, and guidance

Thus, hardships become a test of the self to discover patience and strength, while blessings become a test of gratitude and awareness.

﴿ We will certainly test you with a touch of fear and famine and loss of property, life, and crops. Give good news to those who patiently endure—﴾ـــ[ Al-Baqarah: 155]

2. Achieving tranquility amid change

The heart often feels emptiness and disturbance, and neither wealth nor fame can fill this void. But knowing Allah grants true inner calm, making a person steadfast before life’s fluctuations and surprises.

“Unquestionably, by the remembrance of Allah hearts are assured” (Ar-Ra‘d: 28)

3. Knowledge as a tool for understanding reality

The believer sees knowledge as a tool for understanding the order of the universe and its laws set by the Creator, not as a substitute for Allah. Scientific discoveries, such as the laws of physics or gravity, become signs that increase his certainty in Allah’s wisdom and power.

“Indeed, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and the alternation of the night and the day are signs for people of understanding (190) Who remember Allah while standing, sitting, and lying on their sides and reflect upon the creation of the heavens and the earth, [saying], ‘Our Lord, You did not create this in vain; exalted are You; so protect us from the punishment of the Fire’ (191)”ــ[ Aal ‘Imran- 190-191]

4. Changing the temporal perspective of reality

Knowing Allah changes a person’s perception of time: this worldly life, compared to eternity, is merely a brief moment, which reduces anxiety and pain and makes calamities and crises lighter.

﴿ “Every soul will taste death. And you will only be given your full compensation on the Day of Resurrection. So whoever is kept away from the Fire and admitted to Paradise has truly succeeded. And the life of this world is nothing but the enjoyment of delusion.”–[ Aal ‘Imran: 185]

Conclusion: A deep connection with reality

Knowing Allah is not a separation from reality, but the deepest form of connection to it. It grants a person the ability to place every event in its proper position, to see life in a balanced way, and to enjoy tranquility and true understanding of existence.
