Why does a person fear for his provision if his Creator owns everything?

1. A question that shakes the heart Why does a person worry so much about his provision… while he lives in a universe created by a God who says about Himself: ( and Allah is the Free of need, while you are the needy). ﴾ — Surah Muhammad: 38) A simple question… yet it reveals a strange contradiction.

Billions of people stay awake at night worrying about money. They fear poverty. They fear the future. They fear losing a job or an opportunity. But few ask the real question: Who actually owns provision? Is it the market? Or the government? Or luck? Or is there a higher Owner above all of that?

01

Islam answers clearly: all provision is in the hand of God alone.

2. A scene repeated every day in India Imagine a young Indian man in his twenties. He graduated from an engineering college in Bangalore or Mumbai. He sits in front of his computer searching for a job. He opens job websites. Compares salaries. Converts numbers in his mind into dollars. Then the anxiety begins. His cousin is in Canada.

03

His friend works in a global company. Another traveled to the Gulf. But he… is still waiting. On the other side of the world… a young American lives the same anxiety. Student loans. Car loan. Rent. Money is not enough. The future is unclear. The result is the same everywhere: constant anxiety about provision.

But Islam asks a completely different question: If the Creator of the universe provides… why does a person live as if provision is in the hands of people?

3. The great illusion of the modern age The world today repeats one idea: wealth is money. Everything is measured by money: success = money power = money happiness = money But if money were true richness… why do many rich people live in anxiety and depression? And why are some poor people more at peace?

Islam presents a completely different definition. God says in the Qur’an: (O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, while Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy) (Surah Fatir: 15) All people are in need of God. Even the richest person on earth. His wealth needs God to remain. His health needs God to continue.

His entire life can end in a moment. But God alone is: Absolutely Self-Sufficient.

4.

A powerful image of God’s treasures The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ conveyed a sacred hadith that opens a wide door of understanding: God said: “…If the first of you and the last of you, your humans and your jinn, gathered in one place and asked Me, and I gave every person what he asked, it would not decrease what I have except as a needle decreases the sea when dipped into it.

” Imagine the scene. A tiny needle dipped into the ocean… then taken out. How much water did it take? Almost nothing. This is how God gives. Even if all people asked and were given… His dominion would not decrease. This idea alone changes how a person sees life.

5. Why do people still fear poverty? If God’s treasures never run out… why does a person live in such fear? There are real reasons, especially in societies like India: Memory of poverty Generations lived in poverty. It leaves a deep psychological effect. Fear is passed from father to son.

Social pressure In many societies, including India, status is tied to money. The rich is respected. The poor is marginalized. Worship of money The modern world created a new god: money. People travel for it. Work day and night for it. Sometimes sacrifice their ethics for it. But Islam rejects this. Money is a tool… not a god.

6. The fundamental difference between monotheism and other beliefs Some philosophies say the universe itself is god. Others believe in multiple gods. Others think luck or karma controls life. Islam declares clearly: God is One. He is the Creator. He is the Owner. He is the Controller. And all provision is in His hand.

God says: (And there is no creature on earth but that upon Allah is its provision, and He knows its place of dwelling and place of storage. All is in a clear register).(Surah Hud: 6) Every creature… from the smallest insect… to the greatest human… its provision is written by God.

7. A real example from history One of the most powerful stories is that of Abdul Rahman ibn Awf. When he migrated, he left all his wealth. He became completely poor. A man offered him half of his wealth. But he refused and said: Show me the market. He relied on God… then worked. He started with simple trade.

Within years, he became one of the richest people. But his true richness was not money. It was trust in God.

8. Where is the real problem? The problem is not that God’s treasures are limited. The problem is that a person: does not ask God does not have patience or harms his life through wrongdoing God says: (And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you.") (Surah Ghafir: 60) God invites people to ask Him. But many do the opposite.

They wait years for a job. Endure injustice from people. But when they pray for a few days… and do not see immediate results… they give up. This is a major mistake. 9. Islam does not forbid wealth Some think religion means poverty. This is not true.

In Islamic history: there were poor scholars and wealthy merchants The Prophet himself was a trader. But wealth was never their god. It was a means for good. 10. A message to the seeker of truth If there is one Creator of the universe… is it not logical that He is the One who provides?

If this God is Self-Sufficient… is it not wise to turn to Him alone? This is the core of Islam: to worship God alone. Not money. Not people. Not nature. Not multiple gods. Only God.

11. Conclusion: Where do you place your trust? Imagine a person standing before a vast ocean… yet reaching for a small cup. This is what many people do with provision. They leave God’s treasures… and run after people. But the simple truth repeated in the Qur’an is: God is Self-Sufficient. His treasures never run out. His giving never stops.

The final question is: Will you live your life fearing poverty… or will you know your Creator… trust Him… and turn to Him alone?
