Degrees without guidance… why does education not save a person

A nation that reads or a nation that is led How can a society that has thousands of schools and universities remain trapped in superstition How can a person live in the age of technology yet not know why he was created nor where he is going The problem is not the abundance of information The problem is the type of knowledge From the Islamic perspective ignorance is not merely the inability to read and write Ignorance is that a person does not know his Lord his rights and the purpose of his existence

Ignorance is of two types and the most dangerous is the unseen There is simple ignorance Not knowing a scientific issue or a worldly skill And there is a greater ignorance Not knowing who created you why you were created and what is required from you A person may hold the highest degrees but if he does not know God then he is in the greatest loss (So know, [O Muúammad], that there is no deity except AllAh and ask forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing women.

And AllAh knows of your movement and your resting place.

Why does Islam begin with knowledge The first word revealed to Muhammad peace be upon him was Read It was not a call to a ritual nor a political movement But a call to knowledge Islam built an entire civilization on knowledge Knowledge of God Then knowledge of the human being and knowledge of the universe But this knowledge is not separate from faith It is knowledge that leads to glorifying the Creator not denying His existence

Lack of education is a path to injustice When ignorance spreads in a society its consequences appear quickly Exploitation of the poor Blind sanctification of traditions Class discrimination Submission to priests or leaders without questioning In some environments a person is born into a class he cannot leave Why Because ignorance makes people accept what sound reason would reject But Islam destroyed this idea from its roots It made the most honorable people those who are most righteous not the richest nor the most noble in lineage

Knowledge in Islam is worship and responsibility In Islam seeking knowledge is an act of worship not a luxury The Prophet peace be upon him said Seeking knowledge is an obligation upon every Muslim What is meant is not every detail of sciences But what corrects your religion and your worldly life To know how to worship God alone To know what is lawful and unlawful To know the rights of others upon you Knowledge in Islam frees the mind from superstition Frees the heart from fear And frees society from injustice

The most dangerous type of ignorance ignorance of God A poor society can rise if it knows its Lord But no society can succeed if it worships other than God Whoever is ignorant of God may worship A human A stone Nature Or a philosophical idea That is why all prophets called to the same foundation Monotheism From Noah to Abraham to Moses to Jesus peace be upon them And finally Muhammad peace be upon him All of them began by removing ignorance about God

Is worldly education enough India today contains millions of educated people and competes in technology and economy but has anxiety ended Has injustice disappeared Has the human found meaning Worldly knowledge is important Islam does not oppose it Rather it encourages it But if it is separated from knowing God It turns into power without ethics and knowledge without guidance

From ignorance to light the path is clear Islam does not ask you to become a philosopher Nor to abandon your mind Rather it asks you to use your mind to know your Lord To read the Quran with reflection To ask about the meaning of monotheism To learn the life of the Prophet peace be upon him To search sincerely Ignorance is defeated when knowledge faith and action come together

The decisive question Do you want education that only gives you a job Or knowledge that gives you a meaningful life Islam offers you knowledge that saves you in this life and the hereafter Knowledge that establishes justice in society Plants tranquility in the heart And frees you from submission to anything other than God So ask yourself today Is my problem a lack of degrees or a lack of guidance And search sincerely For the truth is clear for the one who seeks it
