Why Does Islam Emphasize That Allah Does Not Need a Child?

Many beliefs have linked divinity with procreation,

as if God passes on inheritance, reproduces, or needs someone to support Him.

01

But Islam presents a very simple question:

02

Does the Perfect One need someone to complete Him?

03

The idea of a “child” includes clear human meanings:

The need for a partner.

Continuation of lineage out of fear of extinction.

Seeking support and companionship.

Similarity in nature between father and son.

All of these are human attributes: weakness, mortality, نقص, and need.

But God in Islam:

Does not weaken.

Does not die.

Does not lack.

Does not need a helper or heir.

Therefore, attributing a child to God implicitly attributes need to Him,

and need does not befit the Perfect God.

What about the idea of a “Son of God” as a means to reach God?

Islam rejects this idea because it stands on a clear foundation:

God is close enough to be called upon directly.

He does not need an intermediary, nor a son to introduce you to Him, nor a being to complete His attributes.

Conclusion

The Perfect God does not need a child,

and freedom from need is the essence of divine perfection in Islam.
